I have to say that it’s tough to find some good TV shows these days. I’m the kind of person that wants more diversity as well and try to do that in what I read and what I watch on TV. So I went to Hulu Plus and looked at the shows on Drama Fever. One of the shows was called A Man Called God.
This is based on a 1999 comic book by the same name by Bong-Seong Park. Its a Korean Drama that takes place in Hawaii.
The plot is about a man who from what I can tell is a millionaire named Choi Kang-Ta. He earned his money working for the government and now he’s after the men who murdered his father when he was a child.
When he’s not practicing his martial arts skills, he is gathering information with the help of people that he is working with, including a very attractive woman named Vivian, who is Han Go Eun.
The other character, a woman named Jim Bo-Bae, brings a lot of comedy to the show with her appearances. There were times that she was getting in Choi Kang Ta’s way by taking pictures of the people that he was following and he had one of his assistants take the camera away from her. She also seems to be very attracted to him as well.
The show has some great action scenes Choi Kang-Ta shows his talent as a great martial artist. You really don’t know until the end of the first episode how the writer brings the plot together since there are flashbacks to when Choi Kang’s Ta’s father was murdered.
While the episode may seem somewhat predictable, I thought it was a great show. During the action scenes, you never saw any gore, just the fight or the action that led up to it. It’s a show that has great potential and since there are over 20 episodes on Hulu Plus, I plan to watch the others.
I give the show five stars and will say it’s a breath of fresh air compared to many shows or movies that I have seen I don’t know if if’t still on the air but as far as I’m concerned, it’s an easy story to follow and I can’t wait to watch the next episode.
