Giana Cicala and her son are on the run from brutal mobsters who seem to kill everyone in their sight. Somehow, her luck changes when she meets a mysterious stranger named Gray while he changes her tire.
Much of the story focuses on Gray’s past and the tension builds as he forms a relationship with Gina and her son that may or may not last. In the meantime, we see the mobsters and a corrupt cop on their trail, getting closer to finding them with every step.
The book has a hard edge with a lot of brutal violence but to me in this case, the story becomes more riveting. It’s a tough book to put down although I could have done without the racial slurs. All in all, it’s a great noir thriller.
If you want a story with lots of action and suspense in a great good vs evil story, memorable characters, then this would be a good book for you. I give it four stars.
